Types of Gutters

There are a few different types of gutters that you can choose for your house. A good guttering system is a vital part of your roofing system. We’ve listed a couple of options to help you choose the best for your home.

Types of gutters:Box Gutters

A box gutter is one of those different types of gutters that you don’t see regularly. Instead of on the outside of the is a gutter that has been “boxed” into the middle or the edge of the roof.  They are the ideal type of guttering if you don’t want to actually be able to see the gutter. t Box gutters need to be made from high quality materials so they are generally made from Colorbond or stainless steel.  They also need to be fitted with an emergency overflow, so that water can be diverted if the gutter is blocked or if there is simply too much water. Without this, the water will go straight into the roof space instead.

Types of gutters: Fascia Gutters

A Fascia Gutter (also known as an eaves gutter) is a gutter that combines the gutter and the fascia together in one single system. This means that a traditional fascia won’t need to be installed! A Fascia Gutter is one of those clever types of gutters that sees the gutter installed directly onto the roofs rafters- easy! Fascia Gutters are made from either Zincalume or Colorbond and they are available in a range of colours, as well as either in a plain or slotted finish.

Square gutters, have a square profile available in an ‘high square’ or ‘softer square’ finish. They have a high capacity and can cope with high amounts of water easily.   Square gutters are made from Colorbond, Zincalume or galvanised steel and they are available in a wide range of colours to match your roofing.  They have a modern look that suits all homes.

Round gutters are also known as half round gutters as they look like a semi-circle. Because they have such a wide diameter, they can cope with huge amounts of water so they are great for areas that get a lot of rain. The clean, smooth look of round gutters makes them one of those types of Gutters that look great on any home.

Types of gutters: Quad Gutters

Quad gutters are also knows also known as “D” gutters, are one of the most popular types of gutters as it suits new homes as well as match perfectly if you have part of your existing guttering system that needs replacing.   Quad Gutters come in different sizes an profiles depending on how much rainfall your house gets.  They can be made with or without slots – the slotted versions are best for areas with heavy rainfall as they allow the water to overflow.
